Sign Language Pro App Reviews

3.5 stars

I would definitely recommend buying their Sign Language 101 app instead it seems a lot more organized and more put together, for some reason I thought the "pro" version would be better. Still a decent app, they have both right-handed and left-handed signers.

Good for beginners

This app is very organized and very easy to follow the videos. It is perfect for beginners. What this app is lacking, but is found in the free version, is the alphabet and numbers. Please add these!! Thanks for making such an amazing app!!

Compared to free version...

Free version is just as good, especially for beginners, as it includes the alphabet. More phrases and idioms in this one.

Great way to learn/practice sign love it!

Perfect App to develop Sign Language conversations and a whole lot more!

When a person learns a language, it is difficult to communicate using just letters or several words clumped together without learning the grammar and sentence structures - this app does it all, a wonderful way to start with several grammar lessons along with hundreds of realistic and everyday sentences that are awesome across iphones, ipads, ipods and more. Learn from two Deaf ASL Professors and a certified interpreter/ASL Professor - a first ever app with THREE teachers! Lots of useful information about Deaf schools across the country, organizations and Deaf culture - this app is a treasure to use for years to come. Best of all, this app was developed by a team of Deaf people with combined 40 years of teaching and life experiences as Deaf individuals and professionals. The price is certainly a bargain, which is made possible to help you jump deeper into the world of American Sign Language and Deaf Culture while on the road and anywhere in the world. A must have, to simply put it.

Well done!!!

This is really a wonderful application. I hope you can continually upgrade with what youve created, its gold.

Solid App for Someone motivated to learn.

While the free version was a nice intro, I upgraded to the Pro version for $1.99 and its well worth the price. All the videos are easy to follow and there is a wide variety of material to give users (who practice) a working knowledge of sign. Im sure once Ive mastered the initial two versions Ill be looking for another.

loading...loading...still loading...

I loved the free version, and was very excited to use the full. However, everytime I open it, it just has the loading symbol and never launches completly. I hope this gets fixed very soon. It sounds like it would be worth the money...if it worked.

One complaint

The fingerspelling and numbers arent in the pro version. Fix, and it will be perfect!

Help please!

As of right now I only give this one star. It just keeps saying loading but never goes to home page. I have a friend who is deaf and i got this app to learn signlanguage but I cant because it wont load, so now she is comeing over to see me Monday and all I know is the abcs mom and dad and merry Christmas. Please fix asap!

Doesnt even load

It wont even install for me

so minimal

As one of the more expensive apps, I expected it to have more things. Instead, it has less, and the lessons are bare-bones. Not worth it.

Dont get

So the app did down load after an extremely long time, but after it was down loaded the actual app content would not load so dont get it 

Waste of time

It took my money and wont download. After wasting hours on my computer trying to install it, this app just turned out to be a piece of crap that wont load. Extremely upset. I want to learn sign language, but this is seriously wasting my time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >:(

LOADING......

Im sure if I wanted an app to just be on the loading screen the whole time I probably coulda gotten it for free! HORRIBLE APP! Im sure If it would ever LOAD maybe Id rate it 1 star... so dispointig...

UGH.... :(

I got this app because there is a deaf kid at my school and there arnt many students that can talk to him, because they dont know how to sign. When i got the free version i knew this was a good way to learn and sign to him. But this app is not loading and its wasteing my time, and i would really like to learn it so i could talk to him. I need an app that loads!!!! :(

Misleading

I like that videos are associated to display the signs but the app is misleading 103 sentences is all you get not thousands... Majority of the signs are phrases you wouldnt use in everyday situations

One of my Top 3 Faves for Adult ASL apps, but...

I would rate this app & this companys other versions: 5stars- IF this: Pro vol. 1, ASL 101, & ASL Idioms 1 & 2, did NOT constantly crash randomly and especially in the middle of quizzes/practice quizzes. Also some signs are not signed and recorded seperately, they are edited from a sentence or phrase and it gets a bit confusing for people trying to learn. I do appreciate the right-handed AND left-handed, as well as more than one signer on these videos, because it helps to understand how I am correctly supposed to hold my hands/signs/letters... I often practice in the mirror so to make sure I am doing what they are, it gets a little "dyslexic" for me. I have noticed between my top 3 adult more-"complete-style"-ASL apps (not just alphabet), that in each one of them there are more than just a few words and/or phrases/sentences that are signed completely differently... Is this a regional reason?-If so I think it should state so in each app or for each "different" sign. Is it sometimes folks using a shorthand/slang kind of ASL?? Is it that, just as American English Language changes/evolves over the years...20, 30, 40 years...and some Americans use older words that-say some teens dont even understand-because it is their preferred personal speaking style?, so do some Deaf people prefer to still use what they were initially taught?? I dont mean any insult, jyst trying to understand and learn properly. I am still considered somewhat new to the deaf/HOH world, (Menieres Disease-Diagnosed circa: 10 years ago) but recently, have much more substantial hearing loss; trouble understanding/hearing what People/Telephone/TV say and I end giving up having a conversation a lot of the time, out of frustration and feeling isolated. So I would REALLY appreciate any accurate responses/answers and resolutions to this dilemma?!? I do not want to insult anyone, or embarrass myself because of these confusing differences. I want to immerse myself in Deaf culture properly, & use the correct signs. Thanks for your help. Thank You for offering the variety of apps and the quizzes in them, as well as the culture history, dos and donts, and the info & organizations you list are very thoughtful and helpful!!! I hope you update/improve on these apps soon and keep up your great work youre doing for everyone who TRULY needs and wants to learn. By the way the bloopers are great!!!!

Not the best

This app has not nearly as many phrases as it claimed.. Plus it took over a day to finally open and not crash.. Thought it would be good for learning some basic signs and phrases.. Its not.

So disappointed....refund my money!

Wish I had seen all the negative reviews before buying it. This app doesnt load. At all. The free version was a fantastic learning aid and Im so disappointed that the paid version doesnt work.
